Vesoul Asian Cinema Festival: the Golden Cyclo for the Mongolian film "The Sales Girl"

The International Festival of Asian Cinemas (Fica) in Vesoul awarded its Golden Cyclo on Tuesday March 7, for its 29th edition, to The Sales Girl, by Mongolian director Sengedorj Janchivdorj. The film, which tells the story of a student working in an adult goods store, was crowned " unanimously by the international jury" among nine films from China, Vietnam or Azerbaijan and mostly screened as a French or European premiere. With The Sales Girl, the jurors rewarded “a warm, sincere and charming film” and “strong” performances, they underlined.
The jury for the feature film competition was chaired this year by Lee Yong-kwan, president of the Busan Film Festival, who was awarded an Honorary Golden Cyclo for his action “in favor of cinema”. Elsewhere, the Jury's Grand Prize went to Cold as Marble by Asif Rustamov (Azerbaijan), an “expertly directed” film that offers “a captivating examination of our stories […]”.
