Michel Drucker is hospitalized for tests related to his past heart problems, and the next broadcasts of the show Vivement dimanche on France 3 will be reruns, France Télévisions and his entourage reported on Wednesday, February 8, confirming information from Parisien/Aujourd’hui en France.

The 80-year-old host “is currently undergoing a medical check-up following his heart operation in 2020” and “is doing very well,” according to his collaborator Cathy Costard. “We agreed with Michel that he take the time to rest after his exams,” said Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, Director of Broadcasts and Programs for France Télévisions, to Parisien.

According to the Parisien, this hospital stay “should end at the end of the week. From this weekend, the issues of Michel Drucker's weekly program, Vivement dimanche, will be reruns. "He should resume recordings within a fortnight," said Cathy Costard.
For the record, as of this past fall, Vivement dimanche, which has existed since 1998, has moved from France 2 to France 3, on Sundays at midday.

In 2020, Michel Drucker had been hospitalized for almost 3 months due to heart surgery followed by complications. He was absent from the screens for 7 months and made his return in March 2021. "I don't know what the future holds for me, but now that I have a brand new heart, I can't see myself stopping this job that I love," he assured in December, on the occasion of his autobiographical show, De vous à moi, at Studio Marigny in Paris.
