Animation festival / Animation: implementation of a sustainable development action plan

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is committed to a corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach in order to "prepare the future with commitment, and generate a more virtuous and sustainable ecosystem", announced Citia, the public establishment organizing the event, Wednesday 12 April. An “action plan” is thus put in place, guided in particular by the “Sustainable development charter for festivals” established by the Ministry of Culture in 2021, specifies the press release. In addition, the festival will carry out a carbon assessment at the end of the 2023 edition, which will be held from June 11 to June 17, with its market, the Mifa, from June 13 to 16.
Seven major objectives have been defined: limit the carbon footprint linked to the arrival of festival-goers; controlling consumption; offer responsible food; reduce and recover waste; conduct a sustainable purchasing policy; strengthen the quality of public reception and cultivate a better way of living together and, finally, raise awareness of ecological, social and societal responsibility.
Citia has translated these objectives into concrete actions, such as promoting carpooling or the use of bicycles, limiting paper media and plastic utensils, recycling self-promotional tarpaulins, adjusting calls for tenders by including environmental criteria, to set up solidarity actions or to encourage good ecological, social and societal practices.
