
The poster for the 73rd Berlinale (February 16-26, 2023) as well as the first works selected in the Berlinale Special, Berlinale Series, Forum and Forum Expanded sections were unveiled on Tuesday, December 20.
In the Berlinale Special section, Infinity Pool by Brandon Cronenberg with Alexander Skarsgård, Seneca by Robert Schwentke with John Malkovich and Tàr by Todd Field with Cate Blanchett and Noémie Merlant will be presented.
As for series, only one has been announced so far, The Swarm, the pan-European science fiction series based on the best-selling Abysses by German director Frank Schätzing, and produced as part of the Alliance of European Public Broadcasters (Rai, France Télévisions, ZDF) in co-production with ORF, SRF, Viaplay and Hulu Japan, bringing together Cécile de France, Alexander Karim, Leonie Benesch and Joshua Odjick.
For the Forum, a parallel section of the Berlinale, several titles have been announced, including two French co-productions: El juicio by Ulises de la Orden (Argentina, Italy, France, Norway) and the documentary This Is the End by Vincent Dieutre (France). For the Forum Expanded section, which mixes arts and cinema, the French work Last Things by Deborah Stratman will be presented.
